--:--your kitchen, probably
Rise · a coffee journal

Built for 5am.

A quieter companion for people who take the morning cup seriously. One hand, half awake, full attention on the brew, not the app.

The recipe is already set.
Tap the timer.

Rise opens on your kitchen. Today's bean, today's ratio, today's water. Everything editable inline, nothing hidden behind a screen. When you're ready, one tap starts the timer. That's the whole ceremony.

The timer is the only full-focus moment. Big numbers. Stage prompts. Your thumb doesn't have to travel. Your eyes don't have to squint.

We thought about a giant "BREW" button. We deleted it. The app isn't the event.
Rise's Brew tab on mobile: today's bean and recipe, one tap away from the timer.

It notices,
so you don't have to.

Signal is statistics, given a voice. It observes, with caveats, and invites you to test what looks worth testing.

It doesn't explain, prescribe, or pretend to know. It learns from your feedback, even when you ignore it.

We will never tell you your coffee is "82% good." We will tell you what the data suggests, and when it's too early to say.
The Guji prefers slower pours.
Observed · 14 brews · moderate confidence
Across your last two weeks, brews where pour time exceeded 3:20 rated higher than those under 3:00, by about 0.7 on your own scale.
ConfidenceModerate
Could also be the bean aging in. We'd rerun this after your next bag.

Every brew, kept in longhand.

Not a spreadsheet. A journal. Grouped by morning, written in serif, built for the kind of person who likes to page back through a month and remember which ones were good.

Search by taste: "find me the peachy ones." Or by bean, ratio, method, mood, whatever you wrote.

A short list of things
Rise will never do.

A lot of what makes Rise feel quiet is what we left out. These are load-bearing.

No push notifications

Your phone stays quiet at 4:47am.

Rise never lights up your lock screen. In-app toasts only, while you're actually brewing.

No streaks

Missing a day isn't a failure.

No green squares. No guilt screens. Some mornings you just drink it.

No gamification

You don't earn badges for caring.

No levels, no points, no "coffee score." The coffee is the reward.

No AI voice

Rise doesn't talk like a chatbot. Because it isn't.

Signal observes. It doesn't explain, prescribe, or pretend to know.

No ads, ever

No affiliate links. No sponsored beans.

You're the customer, not the product. The app never recommends a brand it's paid by.

No data selling

Your brews are yours.

Questions

Can I downgrade?
Yes. Your data stays. Signal stops generating new observations; the ones you already have remain readable.
Why lifetime, when most apps don't offer one?
Subscriptions make sense for tools that keep changing in big ways. Rise is a long-arc craft tool: most of what you pay for, you'll keep using on the same shape for years. The lifetime option is for the people who'd rather just buy the thing once. We price it where the math works for both sides at roughly a year of monthly Pro, or a year and a half of the annual plan.
What if Signal isn't useful for me?
Some practices don't have enough variation for Signal to find patterns. Every account starts with 30 days of Pro for free, no card required. If a month of Signal hasn't said anything you didn't already know, downgrade; we won't take it personally.

The kettle doesn't care if it's Monday.
Neither should your app.
